The Joker Card is Revealed
The dealer draws one card from a standard 52-card deck and places it face-up in the centre of the table. This is called the Joker card (sometimes called the "house card" or "trump card"). The value of this card — say, a 7 of Hearts — is the card you are waiting to see matched on one of the two sides.
Place Your Bet: Andar or Bahar
Before any more cards are dealt, you place your main bet on either Andar (the left/inside pile) or Bahar (the right/outside pile). You are betting on which side will receive the first card that matches the rank of the Joker — so in our example, which side gets a 7 first, in any suit.
Cards Are Dealt Alternately
The dealer deals cards one at a time, alternating between Andar and Bahar. The first card always goes to Andar. Each card is turned face-up as it's placed. No cards on either side have any function except to fill the pile — only the matching rank matters.
